Sir,

      Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to express my opinion about the evils of dowry system in India.

    The dowry system is no doubt, a social vice. Parents are completed to pay handsome dowry in order to give their daughters in marriage to well-established bridegrooms. But in most cases, the greed for money and demand for more dowry in the post-marriage stages go on increasing. Sometimes, the innocent and helpless brides are physically and mentally tortured. And many of them commit suicide. The Poor parents become ruined. Sometimes, we see many parents begging for their daughters marriage cause for dowry. Sometimes, we see many poor parents begging for their daughter's marriage cause of dowry. In spite of all these, they can't satisfy the bridegrooms and the members of their family. It's a really pathetic for a poor peoples. So steps should be taken up to eradicate this evil practice at an early date. I think parents should be motivated their daughters for higher education. They should be given proper dignity. Selfless youths should come forward to marry without any dowry directly or indirectly.

   So, I requested you to take up your pen the evils of dowry system in India. So that the society can be freed from such inhuman vice as dowry system.
